I developed this totally new approach for the outer envelope with a message aimed at a younger, less affluent segment of the marketplace. This new carrier envelope was "wrapped around" the existing control. The new envelope generated more orders and a higher lifetime value. This "coffee stain" envelope became the second control. It won a Gold Award -- Best of Show in the Womens’ Direct Marketing International 1997 Jillies.
